This a lovely vintage Chinese or Japanese storage box dating to the third quarter of the 20th century.
Made of pine the box has a red painted finish and is the ideal size for use as a small blanket box at the foot of a bed.
The box has a lift up lid and brass latch to the front, the wooden toggle is a later addition.
Inside the paper lined interior is in clean condition.
