A rare Roman cast bronze oil lamp with a pear-shaped body leading to a curvaceous spout. Handle has a theatrical mask with expressive facial features and tight curly hair. Oil lamps were filled with oil and used to light homes, churches and businesses during the Roman Empire. Beautiful sage-hued worn patina.
