Rare and elegant Charlotte Chauchet-Guilleré for Atelier Primavera, circa 1920 giltwood chaise lounge with older brown velvet upholstery. Wear to gilt in areas, some marks to velvet. Provenance Christie’s NYC. Note one should have a plaque from L’Atelier d’Art du Printemps. Seating area is 22″ W x 48″ L from round pillow to foot of chaise.
The Atelier d’Art at Printemps, the Parisian department store, was run by Primavera, consisting of husband and wife team Renée Guillerée and Charlotte Chauchet-Guillerée. Founded in 1913, they also produced and sold furniture by designers such as Paul Follot and Henri Rapin.
