A stunning pair of very comfortable Danish Art Deco club chairs/ bergeres with fluted pilasters capped with ionic capitals on the arm fronts, and arched and carved crest rail. Frames are made of very fine solid, West Indies/ Cuban mahogany & have been French-polished to a high sheen in our atelier. Denmark, circa 1920. Upholstered in a cotton ruby red Lee Jofa fabric “Thistle Stripe”.

Note: There is a photo of the original Sofa that came with suite shown with the chairs which is available on 1stdibs under product number LU9881950536 . There is also a photo of a salon table, not originally with the suite but a perfect fit under product number LU98811548392 . Why are these chairs listed in good condition and not excellent? Because, while in excellent condition for an antique, 1stdibs reserves the term “excellent” for new furniture.
