A classic décor element rendered in clean, timeless style, with a very dimensional rectangular sunburst motif surrounding a 4.63 inch diameter flat round mirror set behind a gilt metal frame. Finished in what appears to be its original muted gold paint, with subtle tonal variations and patina further adding to the sculpt’s nice sense of depth.
Believed to have originally adorned an upscale movie theater or playhouse. We can envision the mirror as emulating the lens of a projector or spotlight, with one’s reflection at the center of the golden rays emanating outward.
Was originally mounted via holes on either side of the mirror, which have been camouflaged more recently by removable vintage patinated brass embellishments. It’s conceivable that these holes could be repurposed to run wiring through for light fixtures. Black painted wood backing is likely more recent as well.
