Vintage Design
This high-quality rocking chair was designed by Lucian Randolph Ercolani and was manufactured during the 1950s in United Kingdom at his own company. The hand-crafted piece is made from elm wood. Also called the “chairmaker’s chair” (Model 316) this range of rocking chairs were iconic stables of British Mid-Century Modern design. It shows a beautiful combination of traditional wood joints, the eye-catching spindle backrest and the “ergonomic” wooden seat. It is the perfect piece to lounge in style!
The chair has been beautifully upcycled. The worn, original dark lacquer has been carefully stripped back revealing the beautiful, pristine elm wood underneath. The central, ornamental bar has been painted in a matte gold colour, which shimmers in certain lighting conditions and fades into the natural wooden structure in others.
