This beautiful Art Deco Silver Plated Ice Bucket by Boulenger originates from France, Circa 1930. Features a faceted handle in burled walnut with a scalloped attachment point and hatchwork. The remainder of the lid has linear hand-hammered detailing and grooved rings circumscribing the lid’s edge. The Body of the piece gradually tapers downwards to a ring of linear hand-hammered detailing, with scroll form machine age handles. An excellent example of design techniques and attention to detail and geometry characteristic of the Art Deco era, this Ice Bucket will style beautifully in a wide array of interiors and settings, from Art Deco to Mid-Century Modernist and Contemporary spaces. Stamped signature on the undersurface denoting the maker. In Excellent Vintage Condition.

Machine Age Tureen with Skyscraper Style Lid and Orbital Cardinal Red Pulls

This sophisticated Art Deco Machine Age tureen was produced by the esteemed LB Company, circa 1935. It features an orbital body, circumscribed in its centre with a protruding ring. The skyscraper style lid features multiple tiered embellishments, a cardinal red orbital pull; and a cut out to accommodate the ladle. The ladle offers an inverse domed bowl, and a sinuously curved cylindrical handle that culminates in a wood orb of the same red hue, offering a beautiful tonal counterpoint to the polished chrome of the body, lid and ladle. With its austere form and clean lines, this piece embodies the qualities that discerning collectors of Machine Age Art Deco adore. While it is a perfectly utilitarian item- perfect as a punch bowl or soup tureen- it is also a beautiful objet d’art. Excellent vintage condition. Signed “LB Chromium Plated”.

This is an Art Deco sterling silver Han Hansen tureen, designed in 1933 by Karl Gustav Hansen. Hans Hansen is one of the premier Danish silver makers, Karl Gustav Hansen is the son of founder Hans, it was Karl Gustav’s designs that brought the company to the forefront of Danish design. This sauce boat is catalogued as design #137 (page 139) in the Koldinghus Museum book on Karl Gustav Hansen from 1994.

Haviland Limoges Soup Tureen Schleiger 491, Art Deco Porcelain 1894-1931

Rare and important lidded soup tureen by Haviland, Limoges is decorated with Art Deco flower pattern known as Schleiger 491; it is sometimes called “Morning glories”. Examples of the pieces decorated with this pattern can be found in publications such as Haviland China: The Age of Elegance and Evolution of Haviland China Design by Nora Travis. Finding such a large, well preserved service piece in a pattern that was produced for relatively short time is rather uncommon.

The tureen is decorated with bright, colorful band of stylized flowers on the widest part of the body and around the lid with gold trim and gold accents on handles. The lid has an opening for the ladle. The piece is signed with underglaze green factory mark Haviland France, dating back to 1894-1931, and red overglaze decorator mark Haviland & C Limoges, dating back to 1893-1931. It measures 4.1″ high with no lid, and 6.5″ – with the lid, with 8″ diameter opening.

The tureen is in excellent antique condition.
