A charming and reduced form canapé interpretation of the infamous Mae West lips sofa by Salvador Dali and Edward James. This version designed and commissioned by Roman interior designer Andrea Busiri Vici within the same period during the 30s.

About the designer – Andrea Busiri Vici (Rome, 1903-1989) practiced for over forty years. His family, whose history dates back to the 1700s, boasted illustrious names of academic architects from San Luca Academy. His interiors reflected rigorous sumptuousness, a balance between functionality and refinement. By categorically refusing the industrial product, he made every element, both architectural and furnishing, “made to measure” by specialized craftsmen trained by him. Taking care of every single detail he harmoniously mixed ancient and modern. The ability to harmoniously mix old and new would become the unmistakable feature of all his future furnishings. The number of its high-ranking clients would have grown rapidly, seeing in Busiri Vici the reassuring figure of the updated, cultured and tasteful architect, innovator at the same time.

Characteristic and precious Austrian sofas in bleached maple with rich brass inserts, all married with a beautiful black and silver fabric.

The sofa have a maple structure; the wood has been bleached and then polished to give it a very light patina. The front legs have brass finishes both above and below the leg. The sofa has been re-upholstered with a rich black and silver fabric.
