Vintage Design
This beautiful, iconic rocking chair, also known as “Chairmakers chair” was designed by Lucian Ercolani; it was manufactured in his own factory “Ercol” in the 1960s in Britian. In 1946 he launched the Windsor Collection, inspired by traditional Windsor chairs, at the V&A’s “Britain Can Make it” Festival which to this day is still one of Ercols most famous designs showcasing spindle backs, bentwood arms and back and wedged-through-seat legs. The model on sale here is the most valuable and sought after piece in the collection. This rocking chair is extremely comfortable and durable, perfect four lounging around at home.
The chair is made of elm wood with a darker varnish. The chair is in excellent vintage condition with lovely patina.
(The seat cushion is not included.)
