Energetic and bold original signed oil painting by Donato Bernardo Localio (American, 1954- Present). Donato “Don” Bernardo Localio was a personal friend of and mentored by Willem de Kooning. He has exhibited extensively with artists such as De Kooning, Motherwell, Noland and Caro. The modern expressionist piece depicts vivid streaks of color and texture in thick quick brushstrokes much like De Kooning. It is possibly signed on the front in the lower center, but it is illegible. There is a signed note on the back which reads ‘To Igor Friendship Localio 1015’. The piece was acquired from a Charleston private estate. A wonderful collectible piece that will add energy and color to any room of your home.
